Still slogging my way through - hit 27 shows and burned out a bit.

I really am not a fan of Day Job.........

Thanks for the poke to get me going again.

I salute your effort . An uneven year to be sure, but one that should be ultimate y interesting, in the hidden gems department .
Day Job is not loved in normal circumstances; going through the whole year could really make one hate it . You might also find songs you normally like become annoying hearing them over and over in similar interpretations .
I just listened to a bunch of spring 80 . Great shows, but say "Lost Sailor>St. of Cir." Which was on 5 of the 6 shows, started to bug me, and I usually like it .
Hang in there !

There remains enough snippets from 1984 to assemble a nice 6 CD Box Set similar to "So Many Roads" and do justice to the contribution which was, 1984 in its entirety.

I've never understood all the complaints about Day Job.

if you had one you liked it might be OK. But most seem to hate their day job. I kind of like mine, so I keep my night job as a hobby.

Short song no jam.

Only because that's the year Mrs. Mando and I got married.

Why oh why couldn't we have been born in '51 so I could have picked '74?

So you're doing this as a kind of anniversary present? "Here, dear, I've given you a review of all the Dead shows from the year we got married!" Why does that sound like a new episode from a Cliff movie?

Not at all. To say Mrs. Mando tolerates the Dead is a bit of a reach. Of the handful of times we've actually listened to an entire song (much less an entire show), the only one she liked was Morning Dew from the 5/8/77 Barton Hall show.

However, she did ask if that "horrible sounding woman" was going to sing in this song and ruin it?

She's more of a Quicksilver, Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam, Tears For Fears, Earth Wind and Fire girl.

And probably Donny Osmond and The Partridge Family too....

I pray for you that you don't have to endure the Bee Gees and Abba as well, like I do with my bride....

Something must be working.....

Roger that. (37+ yrs & counting here)

My better half has recently gotten into zumba fitness, so I do have to endure Latin music, bachata, salsa etc., as well as her show tunes, George Michael, Mandy Pitinkin, Michael Jackson, and more. The flip side is that she has put up with entire GD shows on long car trips, mostly without complaint- even has a few favorites like Eyes and Shakedown. Her chief complaints are also about Donna and of course, the "endless songs."

"Rainmaker, does she have to be free?
Just when she got the best part of me."

"I woke up in love this morning, I woke up in love this morning, when to sleep with you on my mind."

"Echo Valley 3769..."

That's all I can remember. Oh, Keith likes 7-Up and Mama Partridge likes red wine and spaghetti.

Ha! Now my brain hurts (and "Rainmaker" is stuck in my head.)

Anyone got a good brain-purge link?
